The Begining.. AKA Zach's English Paper that I helped write

It was a cold winter night in January and it was my 2nd winter semester at BYU-Idaho.  Life in Rexburg, Idaho was different then what I was used to, coming from Oklahoma.  Showing up to class, going to the gym, and trying to keep up on homework was filling up my time but just wasn’t exciting enough to make my experience in Rexburg enjoyable. Every day I looked forward to April because that is when I would be able to go back to Oklahoma and spend time with family and enjoy the comfortable life I was used to. This cold winter night, my views of everything changed.
This girl wasn’t just your everyday girl.  She wasn’t that girl the bugged me, she was just cool.  You can’t say this was love at first sight but the minute I met her I knew there was something about her that I just couldn’t get enough of.  She had just got done snowmobiling with her friend, which happened to be my roommate at the time, and came over to our apartment to hang out.  Wearing sorrel snow boots up to her knees and frizzy messy hair, I just had to laugh.  At this time I was the FHE dad of an FHE group and had planned a group get together for games and one by one they all started to show up.  So we began to play games and the more we played, the more I knew I was going to be able to be best friends with this girl. She made me laugh harder then I had laughed in a really long time.
A week later I walk into my apartment, after a long day and noticed this girl sitting on the couch. I had never seen her before, so I had thought, but somehow she was familiar.  I started to realize that I was attracted to this girl.  She was everything I had been looking for and had yet to find a girl like this.  As she called me by name to say hello, I was in shock.  Going through my head I was confused. How did she know me? Had I met her before? I asked for her name and then remembered she was that girl with the sorrel boots and frizzy hair, Mary Swanson!  Dang, I was confused because she looked completely different. Dressed trendy, hair done up, and make up she looked like a completely different girl. I couldn’t believe it.  We talked some more this night which was awkward because I did have a different girl with me but there was just something about Mary Swanson I just couldn’t get enough of. I went to take the other girl home, hoping that Mary Swanson would be there when I got back. Sadly enough she wasn’t.
Day after day I waited for her to come back over, she finally came again and it became a consistent ritual every day.  I looked forward to her coming every night.  We always had a good time when she was over. Always laughed a lot and got to know her more and more every time she came over.  Time started to fly by and soon it was April. I had found myself falling in love with this girl. She was exactly what I had been looking for this whole time!  She loved football, watching march madness, knew a little about cars, a stylist at a salon, hot, funny, the life of the party, a little on the crazy, adventurous side, and a girl who could just make me be happy.  What more could I ever want?
It was April and that meant the semester was coming to an end.  The day had come that it was time to go back to Oklahoma, and oddly I didn’t want to go so bad anymore.  Being intimidated and maybe a little shy I didn’t ever ask her to go on a date with me the whole 4 months I had known her.  It was too late now because it was already time to go.  A week after I had moved home Mary Swanson had kept in touch but I felt that if I didn’t share my feelings with her on how I felt things would just fade away and I didn’t want that.  So I manned up and got the scary, dreadful moment over with and told her that I liked her and thought we could have had something more than just friendship.   Luckily, she agreed!  I was the happiest boy in the world.
I was in Oklahoma and wish I could be there to date her. A couple of weeks later I flew out to Idaho and took her on our first date! It was amazing.  Because we already knew a lot about each other it made the date so fun! I couldn’t stop smiling the whole night because I knew that I was the luckiest boy alive. I couldn’t get enough of this girl. She was amazing.  After that night I knew that she was “it”!  She made me so happy and I knew she was different then all the girls I had ever dated.  I soon figured out a way to come back to Idaho and by August I was back with her for good.
We spent every moment possible with each other and had the time of our lives.  My most memorable memory we had together was when we went to a Boise state game.  I will never forget how much fun we had on that road trip. At this point, I knew that I was going to marry her and spend the rest of my life with her.
Months went by and we had our ups and downs but mostly our ups.  With a lot of thought and assurance, I decided to ask her to marry me. On Christmas Day 2010, she said YES!  We were then married on February 19, 2011.  We have been married for 7 months now and time has gone by so fast.  It has been so much hard work and has required a lot of patience. Not a day goes by that I don’t feel like the luckiest guy.  I am lucky to be married to my amazing wife.  Mary Swanson has changed my life!  I love her so much.  I don’t know what I would ever do with out her!
